Our beautiful daughter, Bella Hope Collie, spent the entirety of her short 10 week and 2 day life in the care of the Royal Hospital For Children Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Glasgow before sadly passing away due to an incredibly rare lymphatic disorder.

During Bella's life we were truly amazed at the levels of care and support. The unit did everything possible for Bella, and for us, and we remain forever grateful.

In Bella's memory we intend to give back to the Neonatal Unit on an ongoing basis, to continue to provide for future babies and parents. Initially we planned to supply books for parents and their children, as research has proven that reading boosts early development for babies in NICU. This was one of the very few things we could do for Bella, and something we greatly appreciated being able to do for her, during 73 long and often challenging days in the unit. Bella was known in the unit for having quite the book collection as we read to her every single day, even progressing to children's novels when we decided traditional baby books were simply too short! However, following an overwhelming level of donations at Bella's funeral and fundraising efforts since, we realised that we can aim even higher. And so we have since decided that we personally will supply books to the unit on a regular basis without using people's donations, while Bella's fund can continue to grow toward higher goals.

To show our appreciation for the Neonatal Unit, The Bella Hope Collie Fund will be managed in partnership with Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity who will help us to consult with the Neonatal Unit on how best this money can be spent now, and in the future.

Via this website friends and family can donate directly, or link fundraising events. All the money raised will directly benefit the Neonatal Unit and will be spent only with our approval in Bella's memory.
